Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca
I worked as a software developer for Catalan artist Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca for several years, continuously between 2006 and 2010 and more sporadically afterwards.
I did the ActionScript 2 and 3 programming of interactive Flash animations for his mechatronic performances and installations Protomembrana (2006), Hipermembrana (2007), Metamembrana (2009) and Pseudo (2012) (including an Adobe AIR mobile application that would turn a smartphone or tablet into a remote control and/or into a portable video projector), as well as the Pure Data and GEM programming of interactive audio and video for his installation DMD Europa (2007) and for the abovementioned works Hipermembrana and Metamembrana.
Regardless of the platform and programming language (ActionScript, PureData), I always focused on building flexible, modular and reusable frameworks that could be extended (possibly by other developers) and adapted to different art pieces, as well as user interfaces that could be operated with relative ease by theater technicians who are not necessarily developers.
